Temple View Christmas Display Lights Up Hearts

Elder Kevin W. Pearson, Pacific Area President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, his wife Sister June Pearson and their daughter Elizabeth Pearson, attended the Christmas lights program at Temple View, Hamilton last light.

They and other Latter-day Saint leaders hosted Hamilton interfaith representatives at the event.

"The light of Jesus Christ is a beacon to an increasingly dark world,” Elder Pearson said.

“These Christmas lights in the grounds of the temple, as pretty as they are, serve a deeper purpose. They remind us that the light, love and life of Jesus Christ offer individuals, families and societies the answers to the most vexing problems we face.”

“We see that happen as individuals, one by one, learn of Christ and then, step by imperfect step, walk in His ways. It is then that peace follows, hope returns, and lives are lightened and lifted."

Elder Pearson expressed gratitude for the guests who attended the program last night. “We are so thankful for our friends in other churches and faith traditions,” he said.

“Together, we are striving to increase faith, fortify families against the economic, social and other challenges we are all facing, and build brighter futures for our children and grandchildren.”
