South African Kiwis Reflect on New Temple in Durban

A new temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has recently been completed in Durban, South Africa.

Malcolm and Charlene Sheward, South Africans living in New Zealand, recently visited family in South Africa, focusing on Family History and made a special trip see the new temple.

"Sugarcane fields have been transformed into a beautiful suburb with the focal point being the majestic Latter-day Saint temple," Malcolm said.

"The scenic hills and serene surroundings evoke a special spirit as one arrives to visit and enter on these sacred grounds. These were the feelings when we visited the then nearly completed temple in October 2019."

He added, "We are so excited for the saints of KwaZulu-Natal and those who will be visiting from the greater Africa areas, to be able to enter onto these holy grounds and participate in the ordinances of uniting families for eternity."
