'Meet the Mormons' Movie Premiere Attendees Donate to Catholic Charity

An enthusiastic crowd gathered to attend the "Meet the Mormons" movie premiere at Hoyts, Te Awa in Hamilton on Monday 9 February

While most of the 300 or so movie-goers were members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints  government officials, members of the Waikato Interfaith Council and local education and business leaders also participated in the event.

Hamilton East MP, David Bennett, said he thought the movie gave insight into the lives of very different individuals who share a common faith based in family, service and community.

That sense of community was demonstrated by the movie patrons who donated to Caritas before entering the theatre.

Great interest was shown in the Catholic Church humanitarian organization and many people commented that they were happy to support a charity that did so much good for local communities.
