Cultural Diversity Celebrated at Mormon Pesega School

“Oute mitamita i lo’u faasinomaga o le Samoa Moni" (which translates as "I’m proud of my identity as a true Samoan"), was the theme of an event recently held at the Mormon Pesega Church College in Samoa.

For several weeks, students, all members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, planned and organized a successful “Culture Day” on September 17 at their Pesega Village school in Apia.

Speaking some years ago about fostering unity while respecting diversity, President Dieter F. Uchtdorf, Second Counselor in the First Presidency of the Church, said, "Today, Mormons can be found around the world. In each country, Latter-day Saints embrace and treasure their own cultures, but also identify as one through the unifying gospel of Jesus Christ."
