Following the death of their grandfather who died from lung cancer, Brigham Riwai-Couch and his sister Mei have worked together to educate the public and law makers on tobacco use and its deadly side-affects.
In 2010, they presented a life-sized coffin made of cigarette boxes to the Maori Affairs Select Commitee, along with a hand-written submission by Brigham that described how much they missed their grandfather.
Recently the siblings spoke at a Parliament breakfast about losing their grandfather to lung cancer.
