‘His Precious Gift’ Easter Open House Held in Ashburton, New Zealand

Members and guests of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Ashburton, New Zealand participated recently in an Easter open house activity titled, “His Precious Gift.”

The event was organised by members of the Church's Ashburton Ward (congregation) on Saturday, April 22.

Bishop Moea Pongia spoke about the Saviour’s sacrifice and resurrection and participants visited different rooms in the church building where exhibits depicting the events leading up to the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ were presented.

Depictions included the Last Supper, Judas' Betrayal, the Tomb, and Christ has Risen.

One visitor said, “It did really touch my heart and made me wonder at how lucky we are to know the gospel and understand the importance of the Saviour in the Plan of Salvation.”

Most attendees left each exhibit with tears in their eyes, especially the Garden of Gethsemane exhibit and the room where a video portraying the crucifixion of Christ was shown.

Watch an Easter-themed video produced by the Church, titled, Prince of Peace.
