The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints welcomes all to view a special birthday broadcast in honour of Church President Russell M. Nelson on Monday, September 9, 2024 — his 100th birthday — at 4 p.m. Mountain Daylight Time (USA).
This will be on Tuesday, September 10 in many parts of the South Pacific.
On June 1, President Nelson invited people to commemorate his 100th birthday by reaching out to “the one” in need, just as the Savior did, referring to His teachings in the parable of the lost sheep (see Matthew 18 and Luke 15). In the parable, the Savior encouraged His followers to reach out to others in need the way a caring shepherd would do for his sheep — looking beyond the 99 to reach the one lost from the flock. President Nelson encouraged people to share their experiences on social media using #99plus1.

Members of the Church of Jesus Christ in the South Pacific have been sharing birthday greetings and sending messages of how they have served someone in need, or how someone ministered to them.
Many Church members are using the hashtag: #99plus1 in their posts.
Here are a few messages from Latter-day Saints living in the South Pacific:

At many Church gatherings over the last few weeks, members and friends of the Church had shared messages of love and support, as well as shared how they have been serving individuals in need, responding to President Nelson's invitation.
One such gathering was in Auckland, New Zealand, where young people wrote birthday greetings and ministering messages on posters.
