Teenagers from northern and western suburbs of Auckland, New Zealand came together on Saturday 17 August in Henderson to take part in a worldwide music event for young members and friends of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
The young people enjoyed watching a recorded concert from the United States, called “Festival: A Youth Concert,” which featured singers and musicians performing Christ-centred “Strive to Be” songs from the Church’s youth albums.

A part of the evening was an opportunity to send birthday wishes and messages about helping others to President Russell M. Nelson who is turning 100 on 9 September.
President Nelson is the worldwide prophet and president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. For his birthday, President Nelson invited members of the Church around the world to follow the example of Jesus Christ by reaching out to someone in need and to serve them in a meaningful way.
During the Auckland event, some of the teens shared on birthday posters what they had done recently to help someone who needed their love and support.
