Senior leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from across the South Pacific are meeting in Auckland this weekend for training and to discuss ways to lift lives, fortify families and contribute to caring congregations and communities.
Also attending the meeting this weekend are members of the Seventy, with the title, “Area Seventy.” They come from Australia, New Zealand and many of the islands of the Pacific.
President of the Pacific Area of the Church, Elder Ian S. Ardern, said, “The Pacific Seventy gather together each quarter to review the progress of the Area as measured by the Area Plan. It is an exciting time to listen to how so many members of the Church are truly being Saints in every sense of the word. There are issues which we counsel about and the Seventy then return to their areas and with the help of local brethren and sisters further discuss matters and make plans that will bless the lives of the members.”
