New Pacific Area Director for Temporal Affairs Announced

The Presiding Bishopric of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced today that Douglas J. Martin is the new Pacific Area Director for Temporal Affairs for the Church.

He succeeds Steven Peterson who has returned to the United States to take up the role of managing director of the Church’s Materials Management Department.

Brother Martin will oversee the Church’s welfare, self-reliance, disaster relief and other humanitarian efforts in the South Pacific, as well as design, construction and maintenance of buildings, finance, and other temporal affairs functions.

Brother Martin is married to Evelyn and they are the parents of five sons.
