Two new stake centres for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Samoa are now ready for members and friends of the Church to use for worship services and other activities.
The designs of these new buildings are the first of their kind.
They are locally adapted tropic style meetinghouses suited for the humid conditions of the Pacific islands.
Painted block, metal roofing, tiled floors, louvered windows and an open-sided fale connect to the rear of the chapel. This will work well for Sunday worship services, conferences and other gatherings.
In the past, buildings have been constructed with an enclosed cultural hall, but the open-sided fale plan provides the comfort of circulating breezes.
President Lolenisio L. Neria of the Upolu Samoa North Stake and local congregations will use the new Lufilufi stake centre.
The newly completed Mulifanua building will be occupied by the Upolu Samoa West Stake with President Oliva Mulipola.
