Elder Koliniasi Latu is serving a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Tonga. Earlier this month, the young Hawaiian’s hometown of Lahaina was destroyed by the wildfires that decimated the island of Maui.

Elder Latu’s uncle passed away in the disaster, and family homes were levelled by the wind-blown blaze.

In this video, Elder Latu sends a message of love, faith and hope back home to his family, friends and neighbours.
