To help alleviate the pain experienced by elderly members of the Leulumoega Village Council sitting for long periods cross-legged on the floor, on 3 July 2018, LDS Charities, the humanitarian arm of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, donated 10 tables and 50 chairs to the village.

According to Elder Scott Cameron, a full-time missionary who works with LDS Charities, “we do not focus on a certain religion or nationality, all are equal in our eyes.” He continued “this is not the last time we will be looking at helping the Samoan community; we will continue to go out to help those who are (in) need.”
