LDS Charities Representatives Discuss Diabetes Prevention Initiatives with Fiji Government Official

Representatives of LDS Charities met this week with Fiji's Assistant Minister for Health and Medical Services, Ms Veena Bhatnagar, to discuss diabetes prevention.

The delegation led by Elder Adolf Johansson outlined the initiatives The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is taking in Fiji. 

Assistant Minister Bhatnagar shared her appreciation for the work being done by LDS Charities volunteers and suggested some villages where support in this area of health was needed.

LDS Charities is a humanitarian arm of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. 

The LDS Charities website states: "We seek to ensure that all of our humanitarian initiatives are built upon the principles of personal responsibility, community support, self-reliance, and sustainability. Even our critical aid in our emergency response efforts seeks to promote these principles. Our efforts are designed to give individuals and communities the tools they need to improve their own circumstances in permanent and meaningful ways."
