In a handover ceremony held recently in Suva, Fiji, LDS Charities (the humanitarian arm of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) donated two cholesterol machines and boxes of testing strips to DiabetesFiji.
The new medical devices and strips will enable cholesterol and glucose screening in rural area outreach visits.
Russell Perry and his wife Wendy, serving as full time humanitarian missionaries for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, represented LDS Charities in the ceremony.
LDS Charities partners with local organisations who understand and know the unique needs of the communities they serve and can develop local solutions.
