Kiribati Church Members Serve Their Community

Members of congregation respond to invitation to "Come and Help"

Members and friends of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints across the South Pacific have accepted "Come and Help" month.

The Area leaders invited members and their friends to identify a community need and then plan and do something to make a positive difference. Watch the invitation video on Facebook.

Inspired by this invitation, Latter-day Saints in the Buota congregation in North Tarawa, Kiribati, converged on the grounds of the Fisheries Department in Tanaea recently to clean up the campground.

The work included cutting the grass, trimming plants, picking up and dumping rubbish.

According to Ataake Tekanene, who attended the service project, the men involved with the clean-up "enjoyed the activity tremendously."

After the clean-up, refreshments and drinks were provided for the work party.
