She made the remarks during the launch of the “Light the World” programme on Friday at the Morris Hedstrom City Centre (MHCC) foyer in Suva.

Ms Vuniwaqa, while addressing the audience, emphasised the importance of giving without receiving and remembering those who were less fortunate as we approach the festive season.

“This Christmas season I encourage everyone to put your personal interests aside and come forward to render services, either to your community, family or your work colleagues,” she said.

“Light someone else’s world with the goodness that you possess.”

The “Light the World” campaign is a global Christmas initiative launched by The Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-day Saints encouraging people around the world.
