Elder Glen L. Rudd, emeritus General Authority Seventy passed away Friday, December 30th, aged 98.
Elder Rudd had a long and sacred tie to the saints in New Zealand. He served as a full time missionary under Elder Matthew Cowley as his Mission President in 1938, and returned 27 more times during his life.
His service to the saints of the Pacific also included an assignment as advisor to the Labour Missionary Program that built the Hamulton New Zealand Temple and the Church College of New Zealand, as President of the New Zealand Wellington Mission, as President of the Hamilton New Zealand Temple and as the Area President.

Elder Rudd led a distinguished period of service within the welfare department of the Church. Known as "Mr Welfare", Elder Rudd worked full time in that department until he was 95, when Sister Rudd passed away.
President Charles & Sister Annette Rudd (son and daughter-in-law) recently completed their assignment presiding over the New Zealand Hamilton Mission, adding to the legacy of the Rudd influence in the Pacific.
In reference to the passing of his beloved father, Charles commented, "We will miss him dearly. I am so grateful the gospel is true".
