Elder D. Todd Christofferson of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has needed to change his Pacific itinerary due to airport runway challenges in Port Vila, Vanuatu.

He and his wife, Katherine Christofferson, were due to visit the nation of Vanuatu this week after meeting with members and guests of the Church in American Samoa, Samoa and Solomon Islands.
Pacific Area president of the Church, Elder Kevin W. Pearson, said, “This is very sad news for the members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Vanuatu, who had been eagerly anticipating Elder and Sister Christofferson’s visit. This is also very disappointing for the Christoffersons who very much wanted to meet and be with the people in that nation.”
“As soon as we can,” Elder Pearson continued, “a member of the Pacific Area Presidency will visit the people of Vanuatu to thank them for their faith, and to convey our love and support to them.”
