Elder Ronald A. Rasband, an Apostle in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and his wife Sister Melanie Rasband, spoke at a virtual devotional for young adults in the Asia-Pacific region last weekend.

Elder Rasband’s message was a reminder of the benefits and importance of being grateful.
“When we express gratitude to the Lord, we are acknowledging His hand in our lives and that He, not us, is the source of our blessings,” he said.
“Our gratitude becomes an expression of our faith in Him, our hope, and our ever-increasing testimony of Jesus Christ.”
Sister Rasband encouraged young adults across the Asia-Pacific region to pray with sincerity and praise. She invited participants to write their own psalm as a way to draw closer to the Lord.
Kjirsti Pedersen, from Auckland, New Zealand, shared her impressions after the devotional.
“My life has been a bit chaotic recently,” she said. “I have had so many different things competing for my time, and an unpredictable pandemic just adds to the difficulty of trying to feel the peace that comes from the gospel. As Elder Rasband was talking about gratitude, the [Holy] Spirit encouraged me to think about how blessed I am!”
