Over 200 senior missionaries for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Pacific Area gathered on a Zoom call on September 8th to hear words of encouragement from Elder Peter F. Meurs, Pacific Area President of the Church, and Sister Maxine Meurs.

Elder Meurs said that there is a growing need for senior missionaries to assist in the work of the Church of Jesus Christ.   He said that the diversity of service opportunities for senior missionaries is great and anyone with a desire to serve can find a role to fill.

The Pacific Area currently has 788 senior missionaries providing full-time mission service.

Elder Maurer, Area Authority Seventy said, “Our goal is 1400 missionaries in this area. We would like you to share your experiences with your friends and ward members back home so they too can have the enjoyment you are experiencing as a missionary.”

Sister Meurs added, “Thank you for gathering Israel and helping to prepare the world for the second coming of our Saviour.  You are true disciples of our Saviour, Jesus Christ in word and also in deed and we so desperately need you and many more like you.”

Elder Meurs said, “We need more senior missionaries…  We really do love you, senior missionaries, …we are thankful for your service, and we are thankful for your sacrifice, and we wish every blessing for you.”
