Dame Val Wins Silver at Commonwealth Games

‘I can’t be selfish any more’

Today, stuff.co.nz reported that thirty-three year-old and new Mum, Dame Valerie Adams, won the silver medal in the women’s shotput at the Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. She claimed the medal with a season best throw of 18.70 meters.

Now the new Mum, a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, says she will consider her future as an athlete. "I don't know what I'm going to do next, all I know is that I need to get some sleep, some rest. I need to sit down and plan with my husband and my family" she said.
