Local and national news media representatives attended a briefing on Wednesday 15 August at the David O. McKay Stake and Cultural Events Centre in the Hamilton suburb of Temple View.
The briefing followed the recent closure of the Hamilton New Zealand Temple which is undergoing significant renovations over the next three years before an expected re-opening in 2021.

Among those interviewed were Hawke's Bay Latter-day Saint, Te Rangihau Gilbert; and Temple View residents, Vicki Wihongi and John Kendall.
A young couple, engaged to be married, Isaiah Cowley and Amber Parker, also met with a local reporter who wanted to know what their plans were for getting married, with the Hamilton New Zealand Temple closed for three years.
Many Latter-day Saints, like Isaiah and Amber, choose to marry in one of the faith's 159 temples worldwide.
The young couple are planning to marry in the Brisbane Australia Temple before settling down together in Temple View.
