Children Participate in Church Program Through Song

Children from the Pago Pago American Samoa Stake (group of congregations) of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints provided the music for a recent stake conference. Uniquely, the singing was pre-recorded and the video was viewed during the program.

Volunteers from each of the 13 congregations recorded the Primary children singing in church buildings. It was then edited together to provide the spiritual music for the meeting.

Primary children are 18 months to 11 years old and are taught about Jesus Christ through singing and lessons at home and during their church meeting, called Primary.

Tuputausi Hunt is the stake Primary leader who had the idea and organized it all.
“During the video presentation at the conference, the children in the audience sang quietly along with the video. Children all throughout were so engaged,” she said.

“This had become a Primary event for all of the children of the Pago Pago Samoa Stake and for all of the stake to witness. I felt as the Saviour said, “Behold your little ones,” (3 Nephi 17:23 The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ).

Listen to the children sing “I Will Walk with Jesus.”
