Latter-day Saints around the Pacific region took part in the #LIGHTtheWORLD Christmas initiative yesterday by helping others to see themselves and the world around them more clearly.
The invitation yesterday was: "Jesus helped others to see, and so can you."
Mormon.org continues: "As the Light of the World, Jesus Christ was born so that no one would have to live in darkness. He miraculously healed the blind, but that’s far from the only way Jesus Christ can open our eyes. Today, there are many ways we can help others—and ourselves—to see the things that matter most."
Suggestions for helping others to see included donating previously used eye-glasses to a charity, pointing out virtues that another person may not see in herself or himself, and reading to someone a biblical account of Christ restoring someone's sight.
A British family who now call New Zealand home donated to the Fred Hollows Foundation, a charity that provides low-cost eye surgeries to people in developing nations.
An Australian mother of five had a long conversation with her 11 year-old daughter, helping her see how well she is doing in school and in other parts of her life.
Today's invitation to #LIGHTtheWORLD is: "Jesus worshipped His Father, and so can you."
