Latter-day Saints in Suva donated and delivered wrapped gifts for the children of prisoners in the Fiji Women's Prison yesterday.
A spokesperson for the group, Sulueti Kama, said the gifts were very well received. She hoped the gifts would provide comfort and joy to prisoners and their families this Christmas.
In Auckland, Olympic champion Valerie Adams posted this message on Facebook to her grandmother and others who are unwell:
"Today I continue to pray for my beautiful grandma Noma and everyone out there who is battling health issues. Am thinking of you all and sending you my all my love and prayers."
Valerie Adams and the Fijian Latter-day Saints are among those taking part in the Church's #LIGHTtheWORLD Christmas initiative this year.
The initiative invites people around the world to serve others in Christ-like ways every day from 1-25 December.
