Fellow members of Jonah Lomu's Latter-day Saint congregation in Epsom, Auckland remember him as a much-loved father, husband and friend.
Former All Black rugby player, Jonah Lomu, was baptised a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 2012. He attended worship services each week at the faith's Epsom Ward (congregation) in Auckland.
His former bishop, Ike Harris, said he had "many great experiences with Jonah," but what he particularly remembered "was when Jonah spoke about Jesus Christ."
"He always spoke with humility and reverence. He (Jonah) loved the Lord."
When Sarah Laban (also from Epsom Ward) came home from serving as a missionary in South Korea, Jonah congratulated her for her service.
Sarah recalls Jonah said to her: "If it was easy, then everybody would do it. Take the hard road, take the smart road."
