French Polynesia’s 2025 “Interfaith Youth Festival” inspired performers and audience members from several Christian denominations. Youth performed songs from the Church of Jesus Christ’s “Strive to Be” album as well as songs from other Christian denominations.

The festival united Christian youth from four different denominations: Catholic Church, Ma’ ohi Protestant Church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and Community of Christ.

It created a great opportunity for the youth to publicly testify that faith in Jesus Christ is alive and that He is a source of hope for young people.

The youth expressed a strong sense of gratitude, freedom, and pride in publicly expressing their faith. Many discovered other young believers in their school or community, breaking their sense of spiritual isolation.

The activities encouraged them to speak, pray, testify, and sing together, creating new friendships and strengthening their Christian commitment.

Tehea, from Community of Christ, said, “At first, I didn’t really want to participate. I thought it would be difficult to sing with young people from other denominations. But during rehearsals, everything changed. We got to know each other, laugh together, and share our faith. By the evening of the festival, we were united, and I truly enjoyed myself. I realized that we were not many churches, but one youth united to praise the Lord.”

Kainuku, from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, said, “I really enjoyed the past two months. Even though we were from different religions, that didn’t stop us from combining our love for God through music. Despite stress, fatigue, and even illness, we persevered until the end. Each person gave their best for the Lord. This experience showed me that when we sing for God, our differences disappear, and our faith grows stronger.”

The Interfaith Youth Festival was a remarkable success inspiring young people, strengthening their faith, and creating bridges of understanding and friendship.
