Young Australian Ballet Dancer Proposes to Girlfriend on National TV

"A couple forced into a long-distance relationship because of the Victorian coronavirus lockdown has become engaged via video chat live on Sunrise," Australia's Channel Seven reported this week.

The report continues:

"Jake Mangahakia, a ballet dancer based in Melbourne, surprised his Queensland girlfriend Kirstie Stevens during Monday’s episode of Seven’s breakfast TV show.

After speaking about how they met and describing their feelings for each other, Jake bent down on one knee and popped the question.

'I love everything about you... your smile, your laugh... I can’t help falling in love with you, so Kirstie, I want to share this life with you, will you marry me?' he asked.

'Yes! Yes!' she responded as family members entered the room to hand her a ring."
