Volunteers Clean Grounds of Marshall Islands Hospital

Missionaries of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints together with local Church members, hospital staff and community participants joined forces 27 March to clean the grounds of the Majuro Hospital.

With the missionaries and members sporting the traditional yellow ‘Mormon Helping Hands’ vests, the group of volunteers removed trash, cut grass and painted a large brick wall.

“It was fun to be able to serve the people, and to see the good we accomplished,” said Church missionary Elder John Foulger.

Majuro Stake President Zedhkeia Zedhkeia said that “Ours is a gospel of service and it is wonderful to see how the service of our members can bless the lives of others.”

The project was designated by the Ministry of Health after a request by local Church members for a community project. Through systematic and regular clean-up, the Ministry hopes for improved community respect for the building and its facilities.

The Minister of Health stopped by to thank the volunteers.
