The Church of Jesus Christ Responds to New Zealand Abuse in Care Royal Commission Inquiry

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is grateful for those who have courageously come forward to share their painful accounts of abuse, as part of the New Zealand Abuse in Care Royal Commission Inquiry. We pray for their healing and happiness.

The Church of Jesus Christ is also grateful for the New Zealand Government and all who have produced this important record. The Church will support recommendations as outlined by the Royal Commission Inquiry.

The abuse of a child or any other individual is inexcusable. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints believes this, teaches this, and dedicates tremendous resources and efforts to prevent, report and address abuse. Our hearts break for children and all victims of abuse.
