Over 200 friends and guests attended the two day Wellington exhibit entitled "Anamnesis," meaning "Recollections of the Past."
Mario said, “Our work overall is about the memories that make us who we are and presenting to the present and future a glimpse of who we once were.”
Mario, who served as a Latter-day Saint missionary in Brisbane, Australia, said the primary inspiration for his work was based on experiences recorded in his mission journal.
“Some may see it as a very personal thing to expose to the public, and it is,” he explained. “But I needed to do this for myself having recently returned from my mission. I really enjoyed those self-reflective moments.”
Mario currently teaches youth in an early morning scripture class for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The class, called, "Seminary," is a worldwide, four-year religious educational program for youth ages 14 through 17.
Mario has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and says he is grateful for the opportunity to further his education.
When asked about his future goals, he responded, “My main goal for the future is happiness. Isn’t that what everyone wants? I want to be in a happy, secure place that will allow me to pursue my dreams and continue to grow spiritually.”
