Over 550 young adults met together in Apia, Samoa last month for a week-long convention.
The theme of the convention was based on the scripture in Abraham 3:27, “Here am I, Send Me.”
Elder Taniela B. Wakolo of the Pacific Area Presidency, and his wife, Sister Anita Wakolo, were the keynote speakers.
Elder Wakolo reminded the group that they were children of God and encouraged them to walk in the light of Jesus Christ along the covenant path. He assured them that their Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ lives and loves each one of them.
After the convention, several young people shared their feelings about their experiences. A few excerpts follow:
Kaylani Efaraima-Fiti
“I am thankful for this convention. It has enabled me to gather with others in a religious and safe setting.”
Phaedra Lameko
“This experience has ignited a desire within me to grow as a leader, for my future family and to be able to serve in the Church.”
Cairo Aiono
“I’ve come to realise how critical my choices are and that they affect not only me, but all my generations to come.”
Laywomen Ikea-Seumanu
“During a devotional, the answers I needed came into my mind in the form of questions. Does the Lord trust you enough to send you on His errands? What do you need to stop doing? What do you need to start doing? I knew the answer to all these questions. I need to spend my time learning of the Lord and understanding truly who He Is and who I am.”
