Strengthening Faith in Jesus Christ in the Pacific Area

Church leaders in the South Pacific invite all to worship in sacrament meetings and in temple worship

The newly assigned members of the Pacific Area Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints—Elder Peter F. Meurs, Elder Taniela B. Wakolo and Elder Jeremy R. Jaggi—visited Hamilton, New Zealand recently to worship in the temple. They were accompanied by their wives, Sister Maxine Meurs, Sister Anita Wakolo, and Sister Amy Jaggi. They were also joined by other leaders of the Church from across the Pacific Area.

“Our focus is on helping members and friends of the Church across the South Pacific to look to Jesus Christ for peace and power in their lives to overcome the challenges of this world, and to experience the blessings of God every day,” Elder Meurs said.

“The hardships and difficulties of life are real,” he continued, “but the power of God and His beloved Son Jesus Christ will lift lives, fortify families and contribute to caring and compassionate communities. We all have the opportunity to strengthen our faith in Jesus Christ so we can ask for the blessings we and our loved ones need. This all begins on our knees in humble prayer; as we immerse ourselves in the pages of the scriptures; as we gather weekly to partake of the sacrament; and as we come to the temple as often as we can to make and renew sacred covenants with God to love Him, to follow His Son, and to serve those around us.”
