Yonita Tuia and Senetenari Tauiliili were married this week in a ceremony in the Apia Samoa Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, according to a report in the Samoa Observer. The story can be read here.
Latter-day Saints believe that a successful marriage between a man and a woman is foundational to strong families and societies. The Church’s “The Family: A Proclamation to the World” states: “THE FAMILY is ordained of God. Marriage between man and woman is essential to His eternal plan.”
Latter-day Saints also hold that marriages performed in their temples join couples and their children not just until death, but for eternity as well.
