Samoan Latter-day Saints Serve Community

Members and friends of the Savaii Samoa Sagone Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints have been gardening and tidying up the produce market grounds in Salelologa for three years now.

Recently a group of volunteers kept the service tradition alive by weeding, mowing, and picking up litter in the community space.

Local Latter-day Saint leader, President Setefano Tauvao, says the Church members lend a hand to the community in response to requests for assistance.

If there are any national events held at the venue, Latter-day Saint volunteers have helped prepare the area with gardening and maintenance.

Samoa national director of public affairs for the Church, Sapele Faalogo, said: "We appreciate President Tauvao and his stake members' efforts."

Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints strive to follow the example of Jesus Christ by loving God and their fellow citizens.
