Run on Saturday, Go to Church on Sunday

20 members of the Auckland New Zealand Harbour Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints travelled four hours north of Auckland on November 19 to participate in the famed Kerikeri Half Marathon event.

One of the few events of its type to be held on a Saturday rather than on a Sunday, the competition is popular with Latter-day Saints who consider Sunday a holy day for worship, family time and giving service to others.

All completed the event, and most are keen to repeat their effort again next year.

Two and half thousand entrants participated, approximately half of whom were runners and half were walkers.
