DOWNLOADToday marks the start of the first-ever National JustServe Week across Aotearoa New Zealand, with communities coming together from 14–20 June 2026 to serve others through simple, meaningful acts of kindness.
Aligned with National Volunteer Week, the initiative carries the theme “Whiria te Tangata – Weaving People Together,” highlighting unity, connection, and shared service.
Led by volunteers from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in New Zealand, this inaugural week invites people of all faiths and backgrounds to strengthen their communities through service.
A Shared Spirit of Service
Organisers emphasise that everyone can participate in ways that fit their circumstances.
“'No act of service is too small,” Muriel Samuela, New Zealand's National JustServe coordinator, shared. "Every effort is an opportunity to live the teachings of Jesus Christ by loving and helping our neighbours."

Throughout the week, volunteers across New Zealand will take part in a variety of projects, including:
- Environmental clean-ups
- Supporting schools, charities, and community organisations
- Assisting elderly or vulnerable individuals
- Helping neighbours

The JustServe platform helps connect volunteers with local service opportunities by listing community needs in one place, making it easier for individuals and groups to find ways to serve.
