Mormonism in the News: Getting It Right | 14 December, 2016

The Press newspaper published the following clarification today regarding an earlier article about Christchurch's historic Mona Vale property:

A recent story on Christchurch’s Mona Vale incorrectly stated the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints had developed plans to demolish the homestead and subdivide the land. However, the church said a New Zealand company had wanted to buy the property and was considering demolition and subdividing the land. The church declined the offer and waited until Christchurch City Council had sufficient funds to buy the property, at a lower-than-market price. The building will be accessible to the public tomorrow, when the Mona Vale Homestead and Pantry opens.
