Andrew Katene serves as president of the Queenstown New Zealand branch in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Recently he joined forces with twelve missionaries serving in that area from the Church and other community members in volunteering their services for a tree planting project organised in the community of Cromwell, New Zealand.
Missionaries and members believe that giving to the communities they reside is a part of living what they are teaching. They have come to understand that serving others strengthens them and their testimony of Jesus Christ.
The organisers of the project were very impressed with the missionaries who stayed after the project and helped with the cleanup.
More tree plantings are planned, and you can plan on the missionaries from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints being involved.
