Christmas lights will soon shine again in front of the government building in Apia, Samoa. Preparations are underway for turning the lights on at dusk on Friday, 15 December.
Crews worked until 2:30 a.m. Thursday morning and were expected to again work into the early hours of Friday morning getting ready for Friday’s celebration. Choirs from several area churches will provide music for the celebration.
The government of Samoa has donated use of the land where the lights will blaze, and the choirs will sing.
TV3 donated the tents for the performers and the audience.
Davis Burgess and Lemigao Sooialo, both members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, donated their skill, alongside many others who are installing the lights.

The community event is part of a world-wide effort to "Light the World" through Christlike service and unity.
