Lanieta Tinanisolo dreamed of becoming a police officer after completing high school. Those dreams were put on hold when she received the diagnosis of cancer in her leg which would require amputation above the knee.
Dean Clark, retired podiatrist serving a full-time mission with his wife Joyce for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, was introduced to Lanieta and knew he could help her.

Elder Clark has worked with many post-amputation adult patients to heal their wounds so they can be fitted with a prosthetic. Because of her young age and the above-the-knee amputation, the device Lanieta needed was unique and not available in Fiji. It had to be special ordered.
Because of his experience, Elder Clark facilitated that process.
The prosthetic was ordered and fitted. Lanieta could now be rehabilitated and continue on with her life.
