Teens from New Caledonia and New Zealand will help host the event and perform musical numbers during the 17 March (Utah USA time) virtual concert.
Young people worldwide are invited to participate.
The pre-recorded, livestream virtual concert will feature personal, powerful testimonies of Jesus Christ shared by youth and Church leaders, inspiring music in various languages, as well as photos, videos and performances of youth from around the world.
The 2021 youth theme video, which was delayed due to COVID-19 restrictions, also will be released during the event.
The Church released a youth theme music album in January, and the songs will be featured during the festival.
Youth are encouraged to invite their Latter-day Saint friends and friends of other faiths to watch.
The event will be broadcast live on Wednesday 17 March at 6:00 pm (USA Mountain Daylight Time) which is Thursday 18 March 2:00 pm New Zealand time.
People can watch on YouTube.com/StrivetoBe. channel, the Church’s Live Broadcasts or Facebook Live pages.
The recorded broadcast will be available for on-demand viewing on YouTube.com/StrivetoBe, the Church’s Live Broadcasts page and in Gospel Library music collection (online and app).
The theme of the Youth Music Festival is based on the 2021 Youth theme, “Wherefore, be not weary in well-doing, for ye are laying the foundation of a great work. And out of small things proceedeth that which is great. Behold, the Lord requireth the heart and a willing mind” (Doctrine and Covenants 64:33-34; emphasis added).
