Young members and friends of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in French Polynesia are eagerly anticipating the first "Festival: A Youth Concert" on the island of Tahiti, which will take place on the 17th of August.
The outdoor venue for the event is Parc Vairai, Puna'auia, Tahiti, ten minutes from Papeete Airport.
"Festival: A Youth Concert" is a worldwide opportunity for youth from the Church of Jesus Christ, and their friends, to strengthen faith in Jesus Christ through music.
The Festival in Tahiti will have the theme "Rising Generation" and will feature live performances by local youth of songs from this year's "Disciple of Christ" youth album.
Also on the program will be an exhibition of faith-based art by local youth, as well as fashion representing French Polynesian Latter-day Saints over the last 180 years since missionaries first arrived in the region.
The global Festival video, produced in the United States, will also be shown at the event.
Church communication director, Noelline Parker, said that they are looking forward "to welcoming youth from the Church of Jesus Christ as well as our friends in other churches, so all who come can feel God's love through music, art, and friendship. Our whole aim is to help young people help each other to strengthen their faith in Jesus Christ, and to celebrate faith, friendship and fellowship with joy."
