Elder Nattress was accompanied by his wife, Sister Shawna Nattress.

Elder Nattress expressed gratitude to the Prime minister for his leadership during a worldwide pandemic and following the January 2022 volcanic eruption and tsunami.

The leaders discussed past and possible future humanitarian collaboration for the benefit of young people, adults, families and communities.

Elder Nattress thanked Mr Sovaleni for attending last week’s funeral service for Tongan Church leader, Elder Inoke Kupu, who passed away in August. He also thanked the Prime Minister for attending many stake conferences of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, including last Sunday’s conference for the Nuku’alofa Tonga Harbour Stake.

“We are so grateful for the Royal Family, for Prime Minister Sovaleni, and the Government and people of Tonga,” Elder Nattress said. “This is a special place—with people who love God, who strive to follow Jesus Christ, who seek to be good parents, neighbours and citizens. Tongan members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints feel very much at home here, alongside our friends of other Christian faiths. We will continue to work with the Government and our friends of other faiths to lift lives, fortify families and create caring, Christ-centred communities.”
