To celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Young Women organisation of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Church leaders are encouraging young women to thank youth leaders who have impacted their lives.
In a newly released video, general president of the Church’s Young Women organisation, Bonnie H. Cordon, said, “We love our young women leaders. We would like to hear how they’ve influenced your life, whether you’re a young woman now or a young woman long ago. Using #StriveToBe, post on social media how your young women leader has blessed your life. Then, if you can, reach out. Tell her what she means to you."
This challenge or suggestion follows one given in May in which young women were encouraged to do something meaningful and uplifting called "My 150" to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Young Women organisation.
Suggestions included reading 150 pages of scriptures, sending 150 kind messages, making 150 treats for neighbours, etc. Youth were encouraged to post their stories and ideas on social media using #StriveToBe.
Each challenge is designed to help young women simultaneously celebrate the anniversary, and come closer to Christ.
On November 15, 2020 at 4 p.m. (Utah, United States MST), a Face to Face event will be held to mark the sesquicentennial anniversary.
The new video is available in many languages, including Samoan and Tongan.
