Clean Water Flows for Tongan Village

Latter-day Saint Charities donates water pump to villagers

The Tongan village of Nakolo has had an ongoing problem with their water. They have had insufficient potable water for many years.

The village water supply is not run 24 hours a day due to a mechanical problem with the water pump.

People of the village have been coming to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel in Nakolo to get their water.

The lack of clean water has resulted in poor personal hygiene, which affects the overall health and well-being of the community.

While trying to solve the problem, the submersible pump was accidentally dropped down the borehole and villagers have not been able to retrieve it.

Latter-day Saints Charities stepped in and donated an electrical submersible pump, and Nakolo Village now has water flowing 24 hours a day.
