Church Representatives Meet with Samoa High Commissioner to New Zealand

Representatives of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints met with H.E Leasi Papali’i Scanlan recently at the Samoa High Commission in Wellington.

The Church's Pacific Area Legal Counsel, Arthur Edgson; Pacific Area Director of Public Affairs, Richard Hunter; and Wellington Director of Public Affairs, Tania Torea, enjoyed a wide-ranging discussion with the High Commissioner and Mr Hele Ei Mataia, Counsellor.

"It was a delightful meeting," Tania Torea said. "His Excellency and his High Commission staff are doing a wonderful job helping people of Samoan heritage in New Zealand and across the Pacific.”

The group discussed humanitarian and community efforts in Samoa, some of which are jointly supported by the Samoan Government and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
