The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced this week the publishing of two important doctrinal texts in Te Reo Māori.

Te Reo Māori editions of "The Family: A Proclamation to the World" and "The Living Christ" are now available on the Church's Gospel Library app. To find the documents, change the language in settings to Māori.

The documents are also available at ChurchofJesusChrist.org, here and here.

The Church's Pacific Area Presidency felt it was very important for these documents to be translated into Māori.

Elder Ian S. Ardern, Pacific Area President, noted that “The Book of Mormon was translated into Te Reo Māori in 1889 and while it is not in print at the moment it is available online. In the early years of the Church, some Church literature was published in Te Reo Māori but that has not been the case in more recent times."

He added, "The publication of these two proclamations is just the beginning of the translation of other important material into Te Reo Māori. It is hoped that the translated material will be of benefit to many members of the Church.”
