Representatives from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints met with officials from the Ministry of Health and Medical Services in Kiribati recently to donate a container of mobility aids to the people of the Pacific nation.
Ms Sonia Schutz, representing the Ministry, expressed gratitude in behalf of the government and the people. “With the availability of these aids many people with mobility problems will be helped,” she said.
The hand-over ceremony took place on 5 August at Nawerewere Hospital in Tarawa.
The nation of Kiribati is spread across 33 small islands and conditions can be challenging and confining to people with disabilities.
